Maa Vindhyavasini Temple

Vindhyavasini Devi Temple is located in Vindhyachal, 8 kilometres away from Mirzapur, and about 80 kilometres from Prayagraj (Allahabad), it is one of the Shaktipeeths of the main goddess of Mother Vindhyavasini Devi. The temple is visited by a large number of people daily. A large number of people gather during Navratri in the months of Chaitra (April) and Ashwin ( October ). Traditional song (Kajali) competitions are held in the month of Jyestha (June). The temple is only 2 km away from Kali Khoh, an ancient cave temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. Vindhyachal, located at a distance of 70 kilometres (one and a half hour’s drive) from Varanasi, is a famous religious town, dedicated to Mother Vindhyavasini. Mythologically Goddess Vindhyavasini is considered to give instant blessings. There are several temples of deities nearby, the most famous of which are the Ashtabhuja Devi Temple and the Kalikoh Temple, which form part of the Trikon Parikrama. Vindhyavasini Devi Temple, Ashtabhuja Mahasaraswati Temple ( on a hill at a distance of 3 km from Vindhyavasini Temple ) and Kali Khoh Temple, dedicated to Lord Kali ( at a distance of 2 km from Vindhyavasini Temple ), form part of the Trikon Parikrama.
